‍About Us: The American Kurdish Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the universal struggles for freedom. We focus on supporting pro-Kurdish policies on Capitol Hill, engaging with policymakers, and educating the public on Kurdish affairs.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Marketing & Management Intern to assist with social media management, content creation, event planning, and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for advocacy, digital marketing, and community engagement. The intern will help shape AKN’s public messaging, expand our online presence, and support events that promote Kurdish issues in the U.S.

‍Key Responsibilities:
‍-Assist in executing strategy for AKN’s social media platforms, including X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
-Assist in creating engaging digital content such as graphics, videos, and articles to support advocacy efforts.
-Plan and coordinate events, including fundraisers, panel discussions, and networking gatherings.
-Conduct outreach to media, influencers, and potential partners to increase AKN’s visibility.
-Track social media analytics and suggest strategies for growth and engagement.
-Assist with email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
-Support general administrative and management tasks as needed.

‍Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field. Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.Experience with social media management and digital marketing. Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools) are a plus. Interest in advocacy, politics, or international affairs.Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.
