Dear Mr. Xulam,

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation
of $4,000 to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey.
Your support will be translated into caring and concern for
so many people whose lives have been turned upside
down by this disaster.

The American Red Cross has responded from the start
committing financial resources to purchase medical supplies,
mobile kitchens and food. Shipments of 25,000 high-
protein biscuits and 25,000 comfort kits (hygiene
items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap, razors and combs)
were immediately sent to the region. The American Red
Cross is providing essential communication equipment
including satellite phones, handheld radios, and
mobile phones and radios for use in vehicles.

As emergency relief efforts continue in Turkey, focus has
shifted to long-term needs such as shelter for the more than
600,000 homeless earthquake survivors. An estimated
72,000 buildings were damaged in the quake, and
authorities project that at least 200,000 housing units will
have to be constructed to meet the housing needs.

Your financial donation will allow the Red Cross to provide
this critical, lifesaving support. On behalf of those who will
benefit from your donation, thank you for your support to
the American Red Cross.

Sincerely,

Marialice B. Williams
